This marks another in-depth cooperation following the earlier FSRU construction project between the two parties. Owned by Greece’s Procopiou family, Dynacom is a benchmark owner in global seaborne energy transportation. Its bulk order placement at a Chinese shipyard reflects the ongoing shift of high-end shipbuilding capacity and premium supply chain resources toward China, testifying to the solid brand reputation and comprehensive competence of China’s shipbuilding for oceangoing energy carriers. Partial RMB settlement helps both sides hedge exchange rate volatility risks and deliver mutually beneficial economic returns.
Developed and upgraded in-house by MARIC (No.708 Research Institute of CSSC), the new-generation 307,000 DWT VLCC receives all-round upgrades in hull form, power configuration and environmental protection facilities. Optimized hull lines together with high-efficiency propellers and energy-saving fittings deliver top-tier fuel efficiency across the sector. Lightweight structural design balances structural integrity and serial construction efficiency. Equipped with WinGD main engines, exhaust gas scrubbers and high-pressure SCR systems, the vessel fully complies with latest international MARPOL emission regulations. Customized cargo oil handling and tank heating systems enable flexible operation across diverse global terminals and crude shipping routes.
A seasoned specialist in high-end oceangoing shipbuilding, Hudong-Zhonghua boasts a comprehensive product portfolio covering high-value vessels including LNG carriers, ultra-large container ships and VLCCs, standing as a leading domestic shipbuilder. Powered by intelligent shipyard infrastructure and sustained R&D investment, the shipyard has realized successive series deliveries of sophisticated vessels. With mature full-cycle construction management and complete supporting industrial chain, it provides tailor-made shipbuilding solutions for worldwide shipowners and facilitates the green & low-carbon transition of global shipping.
