Production Center Introduction

China Shipping Anchor Chain in Suqian, Taixing, Qingdao set up three major production bases, of which Taixing factory covers an area of 90 acres, Suqian factory covers an area of 385 acres, Qingdao factory covers an area of 60 acres. At present, the production center has 61 experts covering technology, quality and equipment manufacturing, who are fully responsible for the production and research and development of products and equipment, and the formulation of standards.

The three production centers now operate 25 anchor chain production lines, and its core production and testing equipment has been fully automated, including automatic cutting equipment, automatic temperature control continuous tempering furnace, fully-automatic anchor chain welding chain equipment, fully-automatic tension testing equipment, etc., with strong production and testing capabilities. Our self-developed and produced products include marine anchor chain with chain diameter 22MM~200MM, Offshore mooring chain, and also produce welded steel plate anchors, steel mooring buoy and other mooring products. At present, the annual production capacity of the production center can reach 500,000 tons, including marine anchor chain, mooring chain 400,000 tons, mooring buoy and steel anchor 100,000 tons.

In the next three years, the production center also plans to build 8 sets of new equipment for the development of 280mm large-size marine anchor chain and offshore engineering mooring chain, the center is currently researching products also include high-level marine anchor chain of AM4, mooring chain R7/R8, mooring buoy, super high holding power offshore anchor, high-strength marine steel wire rope, high-strength mooring rope, high-strength offshore casting products.

a) Fully automatic blanking equipment: ensure accurate blanking with an error of 1mm. Although traditional manual blanking is highly efficient, it has large errors. Inaccurate feeding will result in different lengths of material for each section of the anchor chain, which will affect the shape and diameter of the link, and ultimately affect the chain routing and service life of the anchor chain.

b) Fully automatic temperature control continuous tempering furnace: ensure 100% qualified rate of heat treatment, effectively guarantee tensile strength and impact value of link back and welded junction.

c) Fully automatic anchor chain welding equipment: ensure 100%  qualification rate of the welding quality, effectively guarantee the impact value and tensile strength of the welded junction.

d) Fully automatic  tension testing equipment: ensure that the tension of each link of the anchor chain is verified.

e) The automatic temperature control equipment in the chain produce innovatively uses the automatic and precise temperature control medium frequency furnace to heat the bar material, so that the bar material with the same specification and batch has a consistent temperature when braid the ring, which is more conducive to the ring control and the mechanical properties of the anchor chain, while greatly reducing the manual strength and improving the production efficiency.

f) The tensile testing machine innovates by fully-automatic control of continuous segment tensile force, using computer software to set the tensile load, real-time record and control the tensile load curve, and transforms the track of the chain into an adjustable way during the tensile test, so that each chain can accurately and evenly withstand the load and successfully realize the tensile test of different chains and accessories.

By replacing manual operations with fully automatic blanking equipment, fully automatic temperature controlled continuous tempering furnace, fully automatic anchor chain welding equipment, and fully automatic tensile testing equipment, production errors can be reduced and production quality improved. At the same time, by optimizing welding parameters, the welding quality qualification rate has been increased from 95% to 100% in the industry; Optimize the heat treatment process to increase the qualification rate of heat treatment from 90% to 100% in the industry. With advanced equipment and technology, we have made the two key parameters that affect the quality and life of anchor chain products: tensile strength, link back, and weld impact worth strengthening. Therefore, we are confident in providing customers with a product warranty period that is far superior to that of the industry, up to 2-8 years.


Equipment innovation and process innovation

With over 20 years of research and development and production experience in the field of anchor chain, China Shipping Anchor Chain has improved and innovated key equipment such as chain making units, tensile machines, and tempering furnaces, improving the problems existing in the use of the equipment:

1. The fully automatic temperature control equipment in the chain making unit innovatively uses an automatic and accurate temperature control medium frequency furnace to heat the bar material, enabling the same specification and batch of bar material to have a consistent temperature during the bending, which is more conducive to link type control and the mechanical performance of the anchor chain, while greatly reducing the manual intensity and improving production efficiency. 2. The tension testing machine innovatively adopts a fully automatic control method for continuous segmented tension, uses computer software to set the tension load, real-time record and control the tension load curve, and transforms the track of the chain during the tension test into an adjustable mode, enabling each chain link to accurately and evenly withstand the load and successfully achieve the tension test of different chains and accessories.

3.  Fully automatic temperature controlled continuous tempering furnace, which realizes the heat treatment of anchor chain quenching and tempering through the continuous and uniform speed transport chain of the transmission guide wheel. In the quenching process, we have innovatively adopted a fully automatic temperature control device. The automatic actuator of this device can automatically adjust the inflow and outflow of natural gas, always ensuring a stable temperature in the furnace, keeping the temperature of the six quenching zones within ± 5 ℃ of the set value, thereby ensuring the heat treatment performance of the anchor chain, ensuring the stability of the mechanical property values of the product, and making it higher than the standards of the same industry.


Process innovation

The research and development team of China Shipping Anchor Chain.has continuously carried out technical breakthroughs, and has also done a lot of validation and optimization on the manufacturing process of the unit. By optimizing parameters such as welding current, flash frequency, upset length, upset pressure, etc., it has improved welding quality and speed, and ensured a more complete weld, which not only improves production efficiency, but also ensures weld quality.


Proof load testing

a) Most domestic anchor chain manufacturers conduct tensile testing at a one-time length of 27.5 meters. Although one-time pulling is highly efficient, it can easily lead to inconsistent chain link lengths at both ends, middle, and other parts of this section of anchor chain; As well as causing uneven stress on each link of the anchor chain, while the China shipping anchor chain is divided into six sections to pull the 27.5m anchor chain, effectively ensuring that each link is evenly stressed and tested in place, ensuring that the length of each link of each anchor chain is consistent.


Tensile strength testing

The internal control testing standard for the tensile strength of China shipping anchor chain is around 780MPa, which is higher than the 690-710MPa required by the national standard.


Impact value testing

According to the national standard for U 3 anchor chains, the impact value at the back of the link shall not be less than 60J, and the impact value at the weld shall not be less than 50J; The internal control testing standard for China shipping anchor chain is that the annular impact value is not less than 200J; The impact value of the welded junction shall not be lower than 150J.
